Brand Focus: Bardot Junior

Bardot Junior is the second incarnation of designer Carol Skoufis who started the primary brand, Bardot, in 1996.

In 1996, Carol Skoufis first established Bardot in a daring fashion (if you’ll pardon the pun). She returned to Australia, after living overseas, to no job, no car and no place to live. Although she had little, she had big intentions. She sold her wardrobe and started a brand to stand the test of time, and we’re glad she did! From day one, the brand was incredibly trend focused with an aspiration to always get pieces onto the shop floor first – something they do very well to this day.

What a girl wants from fashion isn’t thread and fabric – it’s confidence and a feeling of empowerment! "

Bardot is now an Australian fashion power house, employing more than 600 people and producing over 1000 pieces a year. Carol started up aimed squarely at party girls who wanted ahead-of-the-curve glitz and glamour, with an art of sophistication thrown in for good measure. She believes what a girl wants from fashion isn’t thread and fabric – it’s confidence and a feeling of empowerment! We see eye to eye with this line of thought; a suit isn’t just a suit. It’s a statement of character and shows a level of respect when worn.

In 2004 Bardot launched its junior division – Bardot Junior. Using their keen eye for fashion as a starting point, Bardot captures the imagination of little ones and reflects the true essence of youth through their children’s clothing line. They’re practical, yet playful – another similarity and something we feel connected with at Roco. It’s all about creating fond memories for young ones and stimulating a trip down memory lane for parents. Everything about Bardot fits with Roco, so stocking Bardot Junior was a no brainer.
