The Dress Up Making the Most of Late Summer: Fun Family Activities Late summer is the perfect time to squeeze in some extra activities with your family and make the most of the weather (unless it’s the typical UK summer weather!). Whether you’re looking for outdoor excitement or fun activities, we’ve got you sorted! Don’t worry there’s still plenty of time for fun, before those back to school signs start going up! End of Summer Garden Party Say goodbye to summer in style with a kid-friendly garden party! Set up a back garden tea table, string up fairy lights, and neighbourhood friends for one last summer bash. Playing lawn games, like ring toss or giant connect four, is always a good idea! Also why not set up a craft station? Let the little ones paint plant pots, and then they get to take them home as party favours! Berry Picking August is peak time for berries, our favourite place for berry picking is Kenyon Farm. As well as berries they also have vegetable patches that you can pick from and after that why not try out the maize maze (just don’t get lost!). The best part about after all that is you can make some homemade berry ice lollies or muffins! Sunflower Fields Sunflower fields can be a fun and engaging experience or little ones, they can explore nature and learn all about the beautiful fields of flowers. Whilst you’re there take the opportunity to get some memorable photos that can even be framed for your home! The trip may even inspire you to start growing your own sunflowers! Picnic Take advantage of the warm and sunny afternoons (if the British weather graces us with one!) and relax with a family picnic. The best thing about a picnic is you can set one up in your local park, near a lake or even just your back garden! You can really get creative and hands on with the food, try fruit salads or cutting sandwiches into some fun shapes. Or bring the muffins you made with the berries you picked! Camping Camping with kids can be a really memorable experience whether you travel to a campsite or pitch up in your back garden – you’re bound to have fun! Stargazing and roasting marshmallows are all part of the fun. However, if the weather isn’t cooperating, try building a fort from blankets indoors instead! Hopefully you now have a few more ideas on how to squeeze in the last bit of fun and make some memories before the school bells ring! Whether you’re picking berries, dancing in sunflower fields, or cozying up under the stars with marshmallows in hand, this is what summer magic is made of.
