The Dress Up

Dress Like a Royal

It’s not every day that we have an excuse to get our glad rags out so what better reason than the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?

There were many events that went on throughout the much welcomed 4-day bank holiday, including Trooping the Colour, the Service of Thanksgiving and the Platinum party, of which there were a few Royal ‘fits that made their debut.

On Thursday, the celebrations kicked off with Trooping the Colour. This annual event has marked the official Birthday of the British Sovereign for over 260 years and includes the trooping of the regimental flag.

Prince Louis wore the sailor suit that was worn 37 years prior by his dad. Take a look at the Frederic and Jordan if you want to jump on the sailor suit tradition that can be dated back to Queen Victoria's son, King Edward VII.

We even have dresses to match!

Carrying on with the blue theme, Princess Charlotte wore a lovely powder-blue dress, similar to the Rita and Wendy dress we stock.

Finishing off the trio, Prince George was seen in a navy suit which seemed like the go-to suit colour of choice, even amongst many of the adults pictured throughout the weekend. The Kingsman suit would be perfect for that look.

A Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign was held at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday. Great Paul, the largest church bell in the country, was rung for the Service. The male members of the Royal family were all kitted out in a traditional morning dress.

Why not put a modern twist on the look with our Philip suit combined with an additional pair of our striped trousers; two looks from one suit, fit for a Royal!

The women wore simple dresses with muted colours, portraying elegance. Our Belle dress is available in lemon and ivory, the colours as seen on Kate and Meghan, or why not try it in one of our other colour options.

One of the bigger events was the Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday. The celebration included famous faces from the world of entertainment who performed in tribute to the Queen’s 70-year reign. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were amongst the crowd and were accompanied by Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Prince George had a twinning moment with his dad Prince William in a navy suit, similar to our Monaco suit.

Some of you may be attending belated celebrations and want to match the not-so-subtle flag colours blue, red and white. If that’s the case, we definitely have you covered! The little ones will still stand out amongst the themed decorations and food.

If you want to use the Platinum Jubilee as an opportunity to go all-out we even have accessories that will ensure your child is the best dressed.

There were many events throughout communities to celebrate the historic milestone but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress like a Royal all year!
