The Perfect Autumn/Winter Wedding Venues In Manchester

Summer coming to an end is always a hard pill to swallow when you live in the UK as we are always left wondering if we have even had a summer. Even though you may not be ready to start getting your sweaters and cardigans out, we are nothing but ready to start thinking about the future so, we’re kicking off the new season with the perfect wedding venues for Autumn and Winter.

We know that everyone’s themes are not the same (that would be boring!) so we have narrowed down our favourite venues for five themes we love the thought of for the colder weather: Traditional, Fairy tale, City, Alternative and, Countryside.

TRADITIONAL WEDDING

The Monastery’s Grade II listed building is a unique choice for those of you who are having a traditional wedding theme. Voted the Best Manchester Venue 2021 at the North West Wedding Awards, the breath-taking venue has a maximum capacity of 400 which caters to large-scale celebrations.

Manchester Monastery is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic sacred architecture designed by the famous Victorian architect, Edward Welby Pugin, so it’s almost hard to believe that the venue is flexible and can be styled to your own taste!

A traditional theme must mean traditional clothing, right? We have some great options if that’s what you’re after.

CITY WEDDING

For those of you wanting a city wedding, what better venue than one in the heart of Manchester?! The Castlefield Rooms has two rooms available, The Merchant Room having a more modern vibe, filled with natural lighting due to the floor-to-ceiling windows and views over the Castlefield Basin, and, The Brindley Room being more traditional with the visible beams, ideal if you want a rustic theme with a contemporary twist. Great for a more intimate feel, especially with a bit of candlelight.

The ease of this venue makes it a winner due to the many public transport links if you have guests travelling from far and wide and they also offer a full event planning service so the day is tailored to your desires.

We love the idea of a chic look for a city-wedding wedding party, why not take a look at options for the little ones below.

FAIRY TALE WEDDING

We think Thornton Manor would be perfect for that fairy tale wedding you have been dreaming about since you watched Cinderella walk down the aisle to her Prince Charming. The period manor house and wedding venue is nestled within 120 acres of parkland and gardens and located in Cheshire.

They offer four enchanting options to choose from; The Lakeside Marquee, The Walled Garden Marquee, and the two we think would be ideal for a fantasy backdrop – The Manor House or The Dell Pavilion.

The Manor House is a stunning country house and one of the most popular celebration settings and wedding venues in the North West. Within the house there are three gorgeous locations as well as a choice of wonderfully ornate rooms and outdoor settings for entertaining guests.

The Dell Pavilion is a romantic waterside venue surrounded by woodland and amazing views, this would make the most beautiful setting for an Autumn/Winter wedding, especially if the leaves are starting to fall.

If you want to go all-out and opt for glam for the wedding party’s outfits, we’ve got you covered!

ALTERNATIVE WEDDING

Another Grade II listed building, Albert Hall, is a must-have option for those of you that want to celebrate in an unforgettably-intimate way. The original features including stained glass windows, exposed brick and high ceiling arches will look amazing in photos, not to mention you could say your vows in the exact same spot as one of your favourite bands, how exciting!

Albert Hall offers the opportunity to host your entire day all under one roof so you don’t have to worry about anything. The variety of spaces allows you to say ‘I do’ surrounded by the original architecture and can comfortably fit up to 280 guests for your reception. They also have award-winning food, so whether you want picky-bits or a full-blown banquet, they can make it work.

We think accessories would be a lovely way to fit in with the alternative theme as you can be quirky without stealing the show from the bride and groom.

COUNTRYSIDE WEDDING

If you want to get married in a place that feels like a home away from home, Wyresdale Park is the venue for you. This stunningly-cute venue is made up of three different barns that you can set up for the different uses throughout the day: The White Barn to host your reception, The Ceremony Barn for tying the knot, and The Party Barn to have that all-important fun.

This romantic find is well connected to major cities thanks to its proximity to the M6 so you can have your countryside wedding without having to compromise on ease of getting there. They even have boho-inspired yurts so you and your guests are set up for the whole event!

If you’re fancying a countryside wedding, we think our sustainable collection would match the natural beauty of the outdoors.
